Integration Program

Day 1

Introduction & Foundation

Your journey begins the moment you arrive at Delta K9 Academy. We introduce you to your new protection dog in a controlled, low-stress environment where trust is established from the first interaction. This day is all about reading your dog's signals, learning their baseline temperament, and building the handler-dog bond that everything else rests on.

Meet your dog one-on-one with our head trainer present

Day 2

Positive Reinforcement

On Day 2 we dive deep into the reward system your dog was raised on. You'll learn how to mark correct behavior, time your rewards precisely, and maintain motivation in every training session. This isn't just about treats — it's about understanding what drives your dog and how to use that drive to build reliable obedience.

Day 3

Leash Training & Basic Bitework

Day 3 is where control meets protection. You'll work leash obedience to a polished heel, automatic sits, and controlled transitions — then experience your first controlled bite work session. This is the day most handlers say they truly understand what their dog is capable of.

Day 5

Real-world reliability is tested on Day 5. We take your dog into public spaces to proof off-leash obedience around real distractions — crowds, traffic, other dogs. Then we introduce muzzle work so you understand how your dog performs protective duties with controlled safety equipment.
