The Delta K9 Obedient and Deterrent Dog is confident, clear headed, highly intelligent, social, affectionate, and of stable temperament. Hand selected from breeds that qualify for deterrent training and proofed to be very friendly with children. This dog gives you the everyday companion of an Obedience-level dog with the additional ability to visibly deter a threat: show teeth and bark at a target on command from your left side, then stop the moment you tell it to. It is designed to deter, not to attack.

What your Level 1 dog does.
Every capability below is built, proofed, and demonstrated before the dog leaves our facility.

Level 1 FAQs.
Will my dog actually bite at Level 1?
No. Level 1 is a deterrent program. The dog is conditioned to show teeth and bark on cue but is not taught to engage. Most threats end at the display.
Is my dog still safe around my kids?
Yes. Every Level 1 dog is selected and proofed for family environments. The deterrent display is on cue only, the dog defaults to social, friendly behavior at home.
What does gun tested mean?
We expose the dog to firearm noise from a distance, in a controlled way, to confirm stable nerves. A reactive or panicked dog is not eligible for Level 1.
Can I upgrade to true protection later?
Yes. Level 1 is the natural step before Level 2 Protection. Many clients start at Level 1 and graduate their dog up after living with the deterrent capability first.
Is this enough for personal safety?
For most households, yes. A trained dog displaying teeth on command is one of the strongest deterrents available. If your threat profile is higher, we recommend Level 2 or above.
